Y&R’s Grand Phoenix is clearly not being run by Phyllis as she sold the hotel to C-W. Now things seem to be going downhill fast.
Somehow there’s some secret Grand Phoenix rooftop patio that can be reserved for intimate chaos. It could be Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) challenging GC’s hottest mess Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) to a screaming contest. Or, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) staging a date with the last lady he hurt that’s currently sleeping with his brother.
Speaking of the Grand Phoenix rooftop, there’s Noah Newman’s (Rory Gibson’s) new restaurant. So far it’s a flop. He’s giving the bar away & the bride & groom didn’t even shop up to his opening event that was also in celebration of them.
Only Regrets, The Sale of Y&R’s Grand Phoenix in Genoa City
Y&R fans will never understand 100% why Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) sold the Grand Phoenix to Chancellor Winters. Phyllis could have totally promoted The Woman in the Green Dress (Crystal). Or, Phyllis could have hired someone else to run the Grand Phoenix.
Both Phyllis & Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) have already been fired & rehired at Marchetti. Their married children Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) & Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) have demanded that their mothers play nice at work or else. Unless Diane is booted out of GC promptly, there’s no doubt she & Phyllis will end up let go from Marchetti yet again.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was super motivated to acquire the Grand Phoenix & even overpaid Phyllis for the hotel. This yet not putting any focus or resources into running it.
Perhaps the CEOs & COOs of C-W have been too caught up in the IPO to give their recent hotel acquisition the attention that it deserves.
Billy Finds His COO Role As Boring as Y&R Fans Found His Podcast
Billy Abbott finally leveled with Lily that he could not be more bored in his COO role. It seems the level of boredom that Billy is experiencing mirrors the level of boredom that Y&R fans experienced witnessing his boring podcast.
So, Billy is going to need something to do that doesn’t bore him to death or gamble his relationship with Lily away.
What if Billy Abbott were to run the Grand Phoenix under the Chancellor Winters umbrella? Billy is already acquainted with Crystal & has leaned on her to get things done that suited his agenda.
Billy career being based in a C-suite makes about as much sense as his podcast focusing on the mother of his children & her deceased ex-husband.
Y&R’s Grand Phoenix can provide Billy Abbott an avenue to put his entrepreneurial spirit to good use. Plus, what a better place to keep track of everyone important in Genoa City than the Grand Phoenix? Especially Chelsea Lawson who has been insistent on connecting with Johnny even though Billy & Victoria (Ameilia Heinle) have told Chelsea to put on the brakes.
Noah’s Restaurant on the Grand Phoenix Rooftop is Also Failing
It seems Noah grandfather, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) turning down Noah’s restaurant idea at the Top of the Tower was spot on.
Noah’s rooftop restaurant is already losing money. Also, Summer & Kyle did not even make an appearance to their own after vow renewal ceremony party. Neither did co-wedding-officiants Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) & Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).
Noah Newman’s ex-girlfriend from London managed to make an appearance, however.
Will anyone at Chancellor Winters remember that they acquired the Grand Phoenix & begin to pay attention to it? How long before either Victor or Noah’s dad has to bail him out of his bound to fail rooftop restaurant? Is Phyllis still living at the Grand Phoenix? If so, how long with that last?
