Reese Witherspoon has an important message for us all – keep going!
The Hollywood star and entrepreneur (and let’s not forget beloved empowerer of the sisterhood and general human ray of sunshine) is reflecting on the early days of her career and all that she’s achieved since, revealing she had “no idea” where this journey would take her.
In a post on Instagram, she shares a throwback of her very first photo shoot for Seventeen magazine where a young Reese sits on a beach with fellow actress Emily Warfield and is described as one of three actors who “really shine in the touching film The Man in the Moon.”
Captioning the pic, Reese recalls how thrilled she was to be featured in the publication after her debut performance on screen:
“I remember thinking I was going to pass out from excitement because all I ever wanted was to be in Seventeen magazine.”

Of course, Reese went on to star in dozens of films including Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde, Election, Sweet Home Alabama and Walk the Line for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress.
And as for where the journey would take her? We’re talking a Primetime Emmy, two Golden Globes and a British Academy Film Award. Plus she founded the hugely successful production company Hello Sunshine and was named one of Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women in both 2019 and 2021.
Reese ends her post with a powerful message: “A reminder to keep going because you never know what’s next!”
