It’s been one whole year since Malala Yousafzai and Asser Malik surprised the world with news of their marriage – and they’re marking the special occasion in the most hilarious way!
The couple posted a fun video on social media reading aloud tweets about their relationship, with Asser copping most of the heat…
“This is Malala and Asser, and there’s something really important that we need to tell you,” the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and education activist begins, unable to keep a straight face.
“We’d like to address some serious comments,” Asser adds, before the pair begin to read out the comments:
“Malala’s husband is so hot!!! I can’t believe growing up people said boys wouldn’t like you if you were a feminist and then Malala said actually that’s not true.”
“I would like a himbo with golden retriever energy just like Malala’s husband.”
“Malala’s husband just really tagging along to all her important events taking pics must be so fun for him.”

“From now on, can everyone please refer to Malala’s husband as Malala’s husband and nothing else or perhaps he can change his last name to Malala and make it easy for us…because I’ve forgotten his name already,” – to which Malala cheekily replies, she thought we were already calling him Mr. Malala!
The couple announced they married on November 9 last year, with Malala sharing small details about the event:
“We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birgingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”
